The Practice of Hortus: Studio Sessions
An unhurried afternoon of seasonal flowers, thoughtful making, and shared appreciation.
The Practice of Hortus: Studio Sessions invite you to gather at the flower farm for a gentle, immersive workshop centred on noticing, selecting, and arranging blooms at their most beautiful moment. These sessions are about slowing down, working with your hands, and delighting in flowers as both material and experience.
We invite you to bring your own vessel in which to create a bespoke arrangement using flowers freshly picked from our Hampshire fields. Guided throughout the afternoon by a member of our team, you’ll explore colour, form, and movement while learning to work intuitively with seasonal stems. All flowers and tools (aside from your vessel) are provided, with an emphasis on natural, expressive arrangements that reflect the character of the season.
Set within the rolling hills of the Hampshire South Downs, the workshop offers a relaxed and welcoming space to connect - with flowers, with place, and with one another. Whether you’re new to floral design or looking to deepen your relationship with flowers, this session prioritises appreciation over perfection, and the joy of creating something personal to take home and enjoy.
Tea and cake are, naturally, provided.
If you are gifting this experience we can provide a gift voucher for you to send or give to your recipient.
March, April, May, September and October are hosted between 14:00 - 16:00.
To make use of the long evenings, our summer sessions in June, July and August are from 17:00 - 19:00.
If you would like to attend more than one session, please see our Studio Sessions Subscription.
