Flora Poeticus is our stem-picking service, offering our own carefully selected flowers to speciality florists and floral designers who value character, seasonality and creative nuance.

It is a service built around Couture Picks — bespoke edits of exceptional material, selected with intention and shaped by deep familiarity with what is growing, what is coming into bud, and what will bring life and movement to a design.

Designers come to Flora Poeticus when searching for sparkle, stardust and flourish: the unexpected stem, the expressive line, the seasonal moment that lifts a piece to compelling.

Flora Poeticus can be used as either to create your entire pick, or in addition to your existing floral sourcing. Couture picks are created by our team of floral designers.

Think of it less as wholesale, and more as membership, a place where season, judgement and authorship intersect to produce material that is expressive, and in dialogue with your design intent.

A different way of working with flowers

Designers have long worked from stem lists and stem counts and the studio well understands this approach. ~The studio also understands that some florists prefer to work in a different way where the composer of the pick has greater free rein - always within the bounds of the creative brief and budget.

Flora Poeticus arose from this instinct: the belief that sometimes the most compelling work emerges not from certainty of counts and recipes, but from the ability to select material that carries the most character, colour and movement to answer the brief. The spontaneity and nuance of this, its creativity in the picking moment cannot be reduced to a list.

When we grow flowers, we pay attention to their natural line, how a stem curves, where its energy sits, and how a bud expresses tension before opening. These are the qualities that carry visual intelligence into an arrangement, the subtle flourishes that make the whole composition sing. We grow with great attention and care, allowing stems to express their own architecture rather than forcing them into uniformity.

The result is material that surprises and delights, stems that lean into light, foliage that offers unexpected weight, and flowers that assert individuality rather than conformity. These are the stems we return to again and again in our own work , the ones that change a motif into a moment, a vignette into a voice - and the stems that we want to make available to you.

How the Couture Pick works

Designers approach us with a brief rather than a list. This might be a palette, a mood, a reference image or a few paragraphs describing the direction and content of a project and the budget.

Working within that framework, and guided by our close connection to the field, our florists walk the farm selecting stems with care and intent, as if the brief were our own. Choices are made with balance, movement and composition in mind, considering not only what is open, but what is just coming into its moment.

Each pick is curated as a whole, responding to:

- colour and tonal harmony
- natural line and movement
- bud stage and timing
- how the material will perform within a design setting

The result is a selection of depth and presence, entirely bespoke to the commissioning florist.

Flora Poeticus rewards dialogue, openness and trust. It is designed for designers who enjoy working responsively with season and material.

How does it sit alongside other sourcing

Flora Poeticus is intended either as the pick for the event in question, or as an addition to your wider floral sourcing.

Depending on volume, some designers use it alongside market flowers or other growers, calling upon us for the expressive, defining elements of a project. Others will source nearly entirely from us.

Practical details

Minimum spend: £500 (ex VAT)

Delivery: Twice weekly to London, including New Covent Garden
Stockist: A selection of stems is available at Bloomfields (attention: Sam)
Collection: From the farm in Hampshire (GU32 1JW)
Other deliveries: By arrangement

From time to time, we may also offer small quantities of stems via our website, listed in the e-commerce shop as they arise.
