Flora Poeticus is our bespoke picking service for specialist florists & floral designers who wish to work more closely with season, timing & exceptional stems.

Flora Poeticus is our stem-picking service, offering carefully selected flowers to florists and designers who value character, seasonality and nuance.

Built around Couture Picks, it provides bespoke edits of exceptional material, chosen with intention and a deep understanding of what is growing, what is coming into bud, and what will bring life and movement to a design. Designers come to Flora Poeticus in search of sparkle and flourish: the unexpected stem, the expressive line, the seasonal moment that lifts a piece.

Use it to shape an entire scheme or to complement existing sourcing. Created by our team of floral designers, each pick reflects a shared language of material and form. Think of it less as wholesale, more as a membership, where season, judgment, and authorship meet to produce stems in dialogue with your design intent

A different way of working with flowers

Designers have long worked from stem lists and counts, and the studio understands this approach. It also recognises that some florists prefer a looser method, one where the composer of the pick has greater freedom, always guided by the brief and budget.

Flora Poeticus grew from this instinct: the belief that the most compelling work often emerges not from fixed recipes, but from selecting stems with the greatest character, colour and movement in response to a brief. The nuance of this, the creativity of the picking moment, resists being reduced to a list.

In growing, we attend to natural line, how a stem curves, where its energy sits, how a bud holds tension before opening. These qualities carry visual intelligence into an arrangement, allowing each stem to express its own architecture. The result is material with presence: flowers that lean, shift and assert individuality. These are the stems we return to, those that transform a motif into a moment, and a vignette into a voice.

How the Couture Pick works

Designers approach us with a brief rather than a list. This might be a palette, a mood, a reference image, or a few paragraphs describing the project's direction and content, along with the budget. Working within that framework, and guided by our close connection to the field, our florists walk the farm selecting stems with care and intent, as if the brief were our own. Choices are made with balance, movement, and composition in mind, considering not only what is open but also what is just coming into its moment.

Each pick is curated as a whole, responding to:
- colour and tonal harmony
- natural line and movement
- bud stage and timing
- how the material will perform within a design setting

The result is a selection of depth and presence, entirely bespoke to the commissioning florist.

How does it sit alongside other sourcing

Flora Poeticus is intended either as the pick for the event in question or as an addition to your wider floral sourcing.

Depending on volume, some designers use it alongside market flowers or other growers, calling upon us for the expressive, defining elements of a project. Others will source nearly entirely from us.

Think of Flora Poeticus as the place you come in particular for:

– the stem that changes the whole arrangement

Practical details

Minimum spend: this varies with the season (and by arrangement) and is presently £250 ex VAT.

Delivery: twice weekly to London, including New Covent Garden
Stockist: a selection of stems is available at Bloomfields (attention: Sam)
Collection: from the farm in Hampshire (GU32 1JW)
Other deliveries: by arrangement

From time to time, we may also offer small quantities of stems via our website, listed in the e-commerce shop as they arise.
