“At Petersham, flowers are part of a living culture — grown close to
the land, interpreted with care, and woven quietly into the rhythm
of everyday beauty.”

Petersham Nurseries × Hortus Poeticus

Hortus Poeticus is pleased to be floral partners to Petersham Nurseries providing highly creative picks of our own stems for their in- house team to create some of the most recognisable and quietly beautiful floral displays in the country.

Rooted in a shared respect for land and season, the partnership is founded on a mutual understanding of flowers as more than decoration. At Petersham, floristry takes its place in a broader cultural dialogue - between food, gardens, methodology, season, place and the importance of hospitality. Our role is to create collections of flowers for Petersham that are intensely attuned to this dialogue and to a particular moment of time and season.

From our Hampshire farm the studio provides a changing palette of material: cutting garden flowers, branches, grasses, seedheads and glorious short-lived stems, all chosen for their character, charm and colour. Petersham’s in-house team with skill and sensitivity, then shape arrangements that feel generous, informal, inevitable.

Hortus’ heritage sits firmly within the country house tradition, with its intimate connection between field and season, garden and interiors. This partnership draws on that lineage, reviving a finely attuned approach to stems and their arrangement—where seasonality is not an aesthetic choice, but one of principle.

Hortus Poeticus and Petersham Nurseries together celebrate flowers as a necessary part of a life well-lived: ephemeral, expressive, and deeply rooted in place. This is floral arrangement that is alive, both of the moment, and timeless, grounded in a shared belief in beauty with meaning.
